The four action categories

Every role in scope receives one of four recommendations: automate now, augment first, redesign first, or protect human.

Automate now applies to work that is predictable, repeatable, and low in judgment weight. This work creates drag when done manually and limited risk when accelerated.

Augment first applies to work that benefits from AI assistance but requires human review, interpretation, or decision ownership. The output is faster, but the judgment loop stays closed.

Redesign first applies to work where the structure itself needs to change before AI enters. Adding tools to poorly defined workflows tends to amplify confusion rather than resolve it.

Protect human applies to work that must remain under human ownership regardless of tool availability. This includes work carrying legal accountability, trust-sensitive relationships, or consequences that cannot be absorbed by a review layer.

Implementation tiers: from Clarity to Elite

Based on the Blueprint's scoring outputs, organizations receive one of four implementation tiers.

Clarity is for organizations beginning structured AI adoption. The focus is on understanding exposure, defining task categories, and making targeted first moves without outpacing governance.

Authority is for organizations ready to formalize AI governance alongside adoption. The focus is on operationalizing accountability and oversight structures so adoption becomes defensible, not just fast.

Command is for organizations operating AI at scale across multiple functions or regions. The focus is on coordination, consistency, and institutional decision clarity.

Elite is for organizations in high-stakes, highly regulated, or complex multi-jurisdictional environments where AI governance must meet institutional and legal standards.

Governance posture alignment

Every Blueprint recommendation is aligned to one of three governance postures: NIST AI RMF, NIST CSF Govern, or Zero Trust architecture.

NIST AI RMF alignment is relevant for organizations that need to demonstrate risk management practices around AI systems.

NIST CSF Govern alignment is relevant for organizations embedding AI into broader cybersecurity and operational governance programs.

Zero Trust alignment is relevant for organizations that treat AI access and decision authority as a security perimeter that must be explicitly managed.

How the scoring works

The Blueprint scores every role in scope across five dimensions: task predictability, repeatability, judgment density, accountability weight, and context dependence.
